Anthony Johnson’s cause of death was revealed on Sunday, 13th November 2022. 

Anthony Rumble Johnson, an MMA light heavyweight competitor with a career record of 23-6, passed away on Sunday. At the time of his death, he was 38 years old.

Bellator MMA reported Johnson’s death on social media on Sunday. According to a Bellator representative, Johnson has been ill for more than a year.

Johnson’s cause of death was initially revealed on Sunday by YahooSport’s Kevin Iole. The former fighter passed away from hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis and non-lymphoma Hodgkin’s, which caused organ failure.

The company expressed its devastation over his untimely death and its condolences to his friends and family during this trying time.

On Sunday, Bellator MMA, one of the organizations Johnson competed for, posted on social media that the former fighter had passed away. 

There were few specifics available when Johnson’s death was announced. 

It was known that Johnson had health problems, but the severity of his condition wasn’t made evident until his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, requested prayer for the Rumble on ESPN last month.

‘I ask for everyone’s prayers for him. Pray for Anthony. Regarding Johnson’s health,’ he declared, ‘He’s not doing well.’ 

The former UFC fighter reportedly died this past weekend after battling an illness he had supposedly been diagnosed with for quite some time. 

The rest of the details of his death have not yet been made public.

Anthony Johnson’s record, which included 23 victories, 17 of which were by KO or TKO, was astounding in its day. 

He had just six defeats. Rumble participated in a number of UFC bouts over the years, beginning in 2006, but he never took home a championship. Prior to retiring, he held the top spot in his weight class for a spell.

He intermittently left the UFC, but in 2020 he formally left to join Bellator MMA.

Middleweight, welterweight, light heavyweight, and finally, heavyweight were just some weight classes Rumble competed in. In the later courses, he was most successful.

The revelation of Anthony Johnson appears to have startled just about everyone, as he has been out of the spotlight for some time. 

Other MMA fighters and journalists also wrote a tonne of condolences for Anthony Johnson.

Michael Chiesa of The UFC wrote in a post, ‘You’ll be missed, Anthony Rumble Johnson. One of the best KO performers in the history of our sport. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all those impacted by this tragedy.’

One memorable recollection came from Daniel Cormier, who battled Rumble in the Octagon twice.
